The thing that impressed me most about working with Alex was how frankly, deftly, and respectfully she was able to talk about some of the sensitive issues facing actors of different racial backgrounds. It’s not always easy having a conversation about what ethnicity CDs are going to assume you are and thus what kind of roles you might get either pigeonholed into or not even considered for. It helps when your photographer is an ally. The shots look great; but even more important than that, the process was affirming, collaborative, illuminating, and a lot of fun.

Top casting directors and several agents and managers have complimented my new photo. One even told me he absolutely NEVER calls in anyone from just a picture, but there was just something about this shot. I feel incredibly lucky to have shot with a photographer who understands how to capture the soul of a subject and how to take a photo that grabs the attention of people who sift through headshots all day.
